The lift – hoist will be mounted in the Riga Latvian Society House
On December 12, 2013 the Riga Latvian Society signed contract about the lift – hoist mounting. This special facility will give opportunity for people with disabilities to get from the first floor foyer till passengers’ lift and freely move in the RLS House, visiting events or activities.
Mounting works of the lift - hoist will be performed by the enterprise „Baltic Technology and Environment”. The works are planned to be finished until February 28. The needed set of the mechanism has been ordered and preparing works have been already started.
The mounted lift – hoist will provide the necessary comfort and functionality for people with disabilities, besides, its mounting works are planned so that the unique historic face of the house will be maintained. Visiting this historic object or events, people will not have to worry about movement freedom restrictions. The lift-hoist will be built so that people with disabilities will get themselves till the passengers’ lift and then till the necessary floor.
The lift’s –hoist’s mounting is a part of the project „Let’s Open the World for Opportunities and Skills”. The project stipulates 10 % co-financing of the Riga Latvian Society. The Riga Latvian Society started collecting money for the special lift-hoist already in previous years, organising charity concerts „In Advent Light” and paintings auctions. In total EUR 1438.88/LVL 1011.25 were collected.
