COMICS PAINTING TO PROMOTE AND UNDERSTAND THE NATURALIZATION PROCESSES OR EVERYONE CAN BECOME THE WORLDWIDE KNOWN COMICS AUTHOR!
05.03.2013

From January 22 to March 30, 2013, the Riga Latvian Society offers interesting and creative workshop for children and youth.

Children and youth are not only acquiring comics painting, but also in informal atmosphere are learning Latvian language, culture and traditions, and the use of contemporary technology in creative processes.

During the workshop the participants will make the video-clip from their own made comics paintings by using the contemporary multimedia technologies and will play the situations painted, becoming the actors themselves, who will be seen by all the world, as the made comics paintings and video-clips will be published on the internet, and the records will be sent to the embassies in Latvia and abroad.

During the lessons children and youth will be invited to make a sketch, using ideas and characters from paintings and reflecting integration opportunities.

Paintings will be summarized in 3 languages: Latvian, English and Russian. They will serve as a guide to the understanding of the naturalization processes and, at the same time, as a help to acquire Latvian language.

The workshops take place twice a week – on Tuesdays from 17.00 – 19.00 and on Saturdays from 13.00 – 15.00. Children and youth and all the interests are welcome!

The workshop teachers are two active painters Kaspars Bērziņš and Andris Stripkāns.

The workshop takes place within the project „Integration’s ABC” that is implemented by the Riga Latvian Society in cooperation with Welfare Department of the Riga City Council, Latvian Children forum, Association of YWCA/YMCA of Latvia, Society „Goraļ”, Latvian Russians’ Culture Society, Civil Society Development Fund and member organisations of the Cooperation platform and intercultural dialogue making in Latvia.
