03.11.2014
November is the month when approaches the concluding event of the project “Let’s Open the World for Opportunities and Skills”. During this month in the Riga Latvian Society Fireplace Hall all the interesents will be able to see the exhibition of the best children and youth visual art works that have been created during the project. In the exhibition have been combined creative works that have been made with special love, sincere and diligence.
There will be seen works from the creative works’ competition “Me and My Motherland” that took place in two rounds in spring and autumn. The competition “Me and My Motherland” invited children and youth to look deeper and depict their vision about important things for each person – home, family and Latvia, by making visual art works in freely chosen technique.
Touching and surprising are also works, in which their feelings have expressed Strazdumuiţa Boarding school - development centre for visually impaired and blind children. These are paintings, whose main themes come from the musical comedy’s “Bastien and Bastienne” plot. During the project Strazdumuiţa children had opportunity to participate in the process of creation of W.A. Mozart’s musical comedy “Bastien and Bastienne” by painting comedy’s participants’ costumes and sketches of stage design or scenography.
All year long the Riga Latvian Society organised culturally educational activities’ cycle “Open the world for opportunities and skills”, where promoted children and youth to develop their artistic expressing skills, emotional world and interest about culture. The works that have been created in the creative workshops of the activities’ cycle are various, colourful and original. Surprising are children-made pillows.
The exhibition has been made in the framework of the Riga Latvian Society project “Let’s Open the World for Opportunities and Skills” (contract no. 2012.EEZ/PP/1/MAC/054/022).
The works in the exhibition penetrate positive feelings, because everyone has put in them positive thoughts and their hearts’ warmth. The new artists and the Riga Latvian Society House employees invite everyone to come and see the exhibition! The exhibition will be opened until the end of November in the Riga Latvian Society Fireplace Hall!
