UNITY IS OUR On June 1, 2014 the Riga Latvian Society started to implement the project Unity is our strength, the project will last till May 31, 2015.

AIM
Projects aim is to promote inter cultural dialogue and integration of minority, strengthening the understanding and the importance of human rights, national identity, democratic values and citizenship as well as to promote growth of democratic participation and mutual tolerance thus making united society.
TARGET GROUP
Minority representatives, non-citizens and non-governmental organisations that represent the named inhabitant groups interests are the main target group of the project.
MAIN PROJECT ACTIVITIES
- Courses for non-citizens and minority representatives for obtaining of citizenship Latvian language course, history of Latvia, human rights and civil education Latvias legislation, economics, questions necessary for the naturalization examination.
- Public discussions Public discussions are organised on the basis of the work results of the minority forum in 2013 in the cooperation with representatives from minority organisations, who are defining topical questions and inviting people to express their opinions to the experts, representatives of society organisations, state and local governments institutions.
- Intercultural integrations club Culture charmThe club Culture charm is organised to help the minority representatives and non-citizens to integrate in the Latvian environment, reveal the brightest features of other cultures and also the hidden, invisible culture edges that would help as useful information in the integration processes, ensuring mutual understanding, developing intercultural dialogue and promoting acquirement of Latvian language in public environment.

PLANNED RESULTS
By implementing the project Unity is our strength the development of civil society will be promoted by strengthening democratic values and considering human rights.
Place of projects implementation Riga region. The opening event of the project took place in the Riga Latvian Society House on June 27.
