Spanish culture evening
22.04.2015
On Wednesday, April 22, at 19.00 all the interesents are welcome to the event to find out more about Spanish culture that will take place in the framework of the integration club Culture-Charm. The event will take place in the Voluntary House, Mūkusalas Street 72/ ring button TREPES/ 3d floor.
The leader of the Club Culture-Charm Ramona Liepiņa tells: How to learn first step of the Spanish dance Sevillana? Sevillana is a joyful and cheerful Spanish national song and dance style that developed not in Seville, but in Castile. This dance is very popular among the Andalusians, and usually the learning of Flamenco is started exactly with the Sevillana. As Sevillanas is almost the part of every day life in Spain, it is useful to know how to dance it. The popularity of Sevillana is explainable with the practical use of the dance it is danced not only in shows, but also in Fiestas, parties and even in discotheques. Lets try it!
Together with us there will be dancers from the dance studio "Alegria", and we will be able to feel the magic of Flamenco. On November, 2010 UNESCO included Flamenco in the humanitys oral and non-material cultural heritage masterpiece list.
We will meet with the European Voluntary Work Programmes volunteer Alba from Spain and will play the Spanish language word games. We will try to make the Spanish Gazpacho!
The next clubs meeting will be on Wednesday, April 29, when, meeting the Day of the Restoration of Independence of the Republic of Latvia we will have an interactive discussion about the State holiday importance in different cultures.
The club Culture-Charm is the activity of the Riga Latvian Society project Unity is our strength (grant contract No. 2013.EEZ/PP/2/MIC/010/028) that is implemented by the creative association for youth TREPES and, where representatives of minorities, non-citizens and non-governmental organisations are invited.
