Discussion "Formation and strengthening of mutual respect in public environment

On Tuesday, February 17, 2015 all the interesents are welcome to attend the discussion "Formation and strengthening of mutual respect in public environment from 12.00 to 13.00. The discussion will be seen in live video broadcast on Web site www.nvotv.lv. There will participate student corporations Fraternitas Arctica leader Dmitrijs Trofimovs, newspapers Nedēļa Ogre publisher journalist Natālija Ketnere and Societys New Entrepreneurs Union Board Chairman Kristaps Budrēvics. The discussion will lead Baltic Regional Fund representative Uldis Vītoliņš.
The theme of the discussion has been chosen based on the themes of one of groups that was led by Dmitrijs Trofimovs, in the minority forum in 2013. Then work groups founded out more about different ways of expressing peoples opinions of different nationalities representatives in mass media, media work in international questions, analysing xenophobia expressions on ethnic basis.
In live video broadcast the present participants will share their opinions about the current situation in formation of mutual respect in public environment, will emphasize changes and tendencies. During the conversation will be touched questions regarding expressions of xenophobia in mutual communication, work of journalists and media in portraying international relationship and public expressions of politicians or social workers that work as hate kindling techniques.

The discussion "Formation and strengthening of mutual respect in public environment is the activity of the Riga Latvian Society project Unity is our strength (grant contract No. 2013.EEZ/PP/2/MIC/010/028). The aim of the discussions is to promote intercultural dialogue and minority integration, strengthen understanding of human rights, national identity and democratic values.
