The Riga Latvian Society Literature Commission’s
Cosiness’s Club’s readings
The year 2013 was a jubilee year for the Riga Latvian Society Literature Commission’s Cosiness Club. The club celebrated its 10 years working anniversary. Also in 2014 – the eleventh year - several interesting readings will be offered:
January 14 – remembering the writer, publicist Andrejs Dripe in his son’s architect’s Jânis Dripe memories;
February 11 – reading of the zoologist, nature protection activist and politician Ingmârs Lîdaka;
March 11 – the creative experience of the director Kârlis Auðkâps in Dailes Theatre;
April 8 – reading by the poet, translator Guntars Godiòð;
May 30 – reading by the publicist, writer Çriks Hânbergs.
50 – 60 participants regularly visit the club. The sessions lead Jânis Íuzulis and Çriks Hânbergs. The sessions take place once a month in the Riga Latvian Society Ligo Hall. The evening’s leaders and the speaker of the evening sit in the front of the audience, and the speaker approximately one and a half hour tells documental and curious events. The statistics shows that the club visit writers, scientists, the Riga Latvian Society workers, painters, editors, doctors, representatives of the mass media, museum workers, lawyers, representatives of the sports world, copyright workers, teachers, entrepreneurs, clerks and inter-branch managers.
