The Uppsala Latvian Society was founded in 2009. It unites Latvians living in Uppland and its neighbourhood. The Uppsala Latvian Society is a member of the Association of Latvians in Sweden.



The most important aims of the Society are to stay in contacts between Latvians in Uppland and to promote maintaining of Latvian language, culture and national identity in Sweden.  

The Board consisting of 5 people leads the Uppsala Latvian Society. The Chairwoman of the Uppsala Latvian Society is Māra Simons.
