Riga Latvian Society representatives visit Lithuania

From September 21 to September 22, the Riga Latvian Society representatives visited the neighbouring country Lithuania, celebrating the Balts Unity Day. During the weekend not only the Balts Unity Day was celebrated, but also town’s 777th birthday.
The Riga Latvian Society and Folklore Commission’s representatives participated in the celebration’s activities, inviting everyone to find out and dance Lielvârde belt’s symbolic ornaments. Riga Latvian Society people had meeting with Latvian ambassador in Lithuania Mârtiňđ Virsis and Vilnius, Joniđkis and Akmene Latvian societies’ representatives. Valuable was participation in the international forum „The Baltic Unity: Perspectives of Communication”.
